Eagle-eyed Inbetweeners fans spotted something very familiar about the most recent episode of Benidorm.

TOWIE cast go to town with Little Mix references after Chris confirms he’s dating Jesy

In the episode which aired on March 15, Joey (Nathan Bryon) and Tiger (Danny Jones) were working as club promoters for a bar.

As the bar wasn’t doing too well for business, Joey was prepared to do anything to get people inside, and when a group of lads come along offering to bring in 25 of their mates, he was a little bit too prepared to do anything.

When the group of lads said they couldn’t bring their mate in because he had no clothes, Joey was conned into giving them his.

‘My boxers look like shorts anyway,’ he said as he handed over his flipflops, t-shirt and shorts.

Wait, was that Benidorm? Or Magaluf? Viewers seemed to think it was the latter, and accused the writers of ripping off the movie which was made famous by the Channel 4 show, The Inbetweeners Movie.

It looked familiar (Picture: Channel 4)

It bore a striking resemblance to the scene where Simon was tricked by James into selling all of his clothes in the hopes of getting a ticket to a boat party that Carli was attending.

Die-hard fans don’t miss a trick.

While viewers might be seeing parallels in Benidorm, there’s one thing they’re missing – good old Madge, who left at the end of series seven, with a guest appearance in series eight. And while that latest episode might have seemed familiar, for one Benidorm actor, joining the latest series was like nothing he’d ever seen before.

Nigel Havers crops up in the latest movie and said filming was so unlike anything he’s ever done he ‘might as well be on the moon.’

He told the This Morning hosts: ‘I could have been on the moon really!’

‘They have lots of cheap alcohol which means everyone in Benidorm is completely smashed, most of the time! It’s so hideous to look at.’

Reps for the show have been contacted by Metro.co.uk.

Benidorm continues Wednesday 22 at 9pm on ITV.
